India beat New Zealand with four counters in the Champions Trophy final on Sunday in Dubai.

AFP Sport examines five scenarios of the 50 tournament.

– Kohli Silences skeptical –

Virat Kohli silenced criticism of his bad form in test cricket with an undefeated 100 against Pakistan of the Rivals of the Arc.

Kohli took the time to get into the groove on a slow Dubai field to anchor the pursuit of India from 242 with key stands.

His control of conditions, combined with his ability to rotate the strike, brought India to victory with six counters and 45 balls to lose.

Kohli was also the Savior of India in the semi-finals against Australia when his 84 directed another successful pursuit.

The skipper of the opposition Steve Smith described the 36 -year -old player “probably the best hunter that the game has seen”.

– Pakistan Party Flops –

Pakistan organized a major cricket event for the first time in three decades and the excitement was raised there, despite the refusal of India to tour and play all their matches in Dubai instead.

But the poor performance of the Pakistani team on the ground has deflated the spirits of the mad cricket nation with successive losses against New Zealand and India.

This pointed out the end of the defense of the title of Pakistan, and to add the insult to the injury, their final match of the death group against the Bangladesh was carried away.

A disappointed fan called the tournament a “wedding where you do not know the bride or the groom”.

– Superman Phillips –

Glenn Phillips of New Zealand illuminated the tournament with its heroic on the ground, especially against India in the group phase for the Kohli key window.

Phillips plunged full of stretching to his right on the back and kept herself in a way on the ball to return Kohli for 11 of the quick launcher Matt Henry.

Kohli was incredulous for a few seconds before returning to the pavilion while Dubai fans were silent.

Social media was in excitement with reactions to capture, with an X fan calling Phillips “The Superman of the Tournament”.

– The captain of England Buttler resigns –

Jos Buttler’s England entered the competition at the back of a Whitewash 3-0 ODI in India, but stacked a Mammoth 351 in their first match against Ashes Rivals Australia.

England has still managed to lose while Australia hunted the target to leave the side of buttler by the edge.

The defeat against Afghanistan released England from the tournament after only two games.

Two days later, Buttler left the captain of England with white ball after three successive flops in CPI events, including their defenses in T20 and 50 versions of the world in the World Cup.

– Smith retires, Rohit is not – –

The veteran drummer Steve Smith, 35, called time in his career ODI one day after Australia lost in the semi-finals against India.

Smith obtained a better score for Australia with 73, but his blow was vain after India revised the 264 of Australia and the captain’s sleeves proved to be her last in format.

Another retirement seemed very likely after the final with intense speculation according to which the skipper of India Rohit Sharma would end his day career if they won.

The opener Rohit obtained a better score with 76 in the final and later declared that he was going nowhere, leaving the perplexed Indian media and the fans relieved.
