Australia will play in England under the lights at Melbourne Cricket Ground to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the test cricket in 2027, he was announced on Tuesday.

The match, from March 11 to 15, will commemorate the very first test, played between the two-Rivaux d’Arc in Melbourne in 1877.

It will be the first time that the MCG has organized a test of the day for men after a pink clay confrontation of the female ashes succeeded on the site earlier last month.

“MCG’s 150th anniversary will be one of the major cricket events,” said new Cricket chief Australia Todd Greenberg.

“Playing under the lights will be a fantastic way to celebrate both the modern evolution of our game and test the cricket of our game.

“The Ashes series of this season will appear for this confrontation in exactly two years, and we are impatient to celebrate this historic opportunity more as it approaches,” he added.

Australia welcomes England for five tests from November this year.

The 150th anniversary will follow the series of five Australian tests against India in 2027, which made a successful summer.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground was the place of the 100th centenary test in 1977 where Australia led by Greg Chappell beat Tony Greig in England with 45 points.
